Stowford House was built around 1800, to serve as the Rectory for the village of Stowford. A fine example of a Georgian property, it retains many original features, creating a special charm and ambiance. A warm, friendly welcome awaits you at Stowford House. We offer tea or coffee and home-made cake on arrival, and guests can relax at any time in the large, elegant drawing room. On winter evenings the log fire creates a serene atmosphere perfect for reading, chatting or quiet reflection on the day's activities. Guests are also invited to take full advantage of the large garden - the perfect spot for a glass of chilled white wine in the summer. The countryside surrounding Stowford is a patchwork of fields and gently rolling hills. Nearby are the lovely Tamar Valley and the rugged beauty of Dartmoor. |
